On February 29th, Karachi Chapter conducted ACT with the theme of “Cancer Day” at The FOCUS Institute of IT and Management Sciences The Focus Institute of IT &Management Sciences, Karachi. The meeting commenced with Manahil Fatima, a member of the core team and also the project lead for the day, giving a brief introduction about the theme of the day. Following the Introduction to start off the other sessions, Qirat was conducted. Isra Zahid, a surviving cancer patient spoke about her life story.
An engaging discussion was carried out by Dr. Farakhsheen Anjum, Associate Professor and QMS Coordinator and Auditor at Dow University of Health Sciences, on Cancer. Her talk was on the Introduction of Cancer, the myths, the caution and the basic facts. She also gave an enriching introduction of Coronavirus and spoke about the Myths, the facts, the cautions, Safety and of the Symptoms.
A member of the core team, Sabeena Brohi introduced the particpant to Youth Impact with a brief presentation.
Following that, Roquia Sabri, a Social Media Influencer and Blogger spoke on “Social Media and Blogging”. She spoke about her journey, touching upon the topic of the Negative and Positive sides of social media, an unspoken pressure and about different opinions regarding Social Media. An art activity was conducted by Sabeena Brohi and Manahil Fatima. This session was carried out to make people realise the power of art to bring about change and how through art we can not only visualize a bright future but also bring about an actual change in life.
